The Bowen Technique is a dynamic system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that was developed by the late Tom Bowen in Geelong, Australia. It utilises small but measured inputs to the body stimulating the body to heal itself, often profoundly.
There is no force imposed on the body during Bowen sessions which enables your nervous system to shift into its parasympathetic dominance (rest, relax, repair mode). It is only in this place that your body's innate healing ability can be activated. As it is a technique that works via the nervous system, it is able to address the whole body, rather than just one specific complaint.
Bowen is a very gentle technique, making it suitable for every body; from birth to old age; in good health or illness. It can be performed over light clothing without the use of oils; with client either lying down or seated.
The technique also has profound effects on conditions such as PTSD, ADHD and anxiety, with success in both chronic and acute injuries and conditions.
